Ordering information If you would like to order an XK120 or XK140 dashboard please contact me at oxcc@sbcglobal.net . Unlike most suppliers, I may have one in stock ready to ship or one near completion. The price for the XK120 dash as pictured above is $2500. If you supply your original glove box door hinges and aluminum glove box interior you will save $100. I strive to make your XK120 dash as perfect as possible. I constantly search out the finest walnut veneer available to create the splendid book match on the gauge face and harmonize the grain figure throughout the entire dash panel.
I also supply all of the other wood around the windows and tops of doors for both the XK120 fixed head coupe and the drop head convertible in matching veneer.
If you would like a bespoke dashboard finished with an exotic veneer of your choice please let me know. I can source the veneer and the production time is about 2 months depending on how long it takes to find just the right veneer.
Thank you and happy motoring as always,
Darrell Curran

Fixed Head coupe and Drop head coupe Dash
Restoring a XK120 fixed coupe or drop head coupe is a challenging project. One of the more
challenging aspects is finding replacement wood or facing the daunting task of repairing the
original. Here is an opportunity to have a ready to install dashboard that will highlight the
quality of your restoration.
This is a completely new dashboard reproduced to original specifications and veneered with
real black walnut wood veneer. All of the gauge cutouts and switch locations are in their
original positions.
The walnut burl veneer on the center gauge panel is book-matched side to side. This means that
the consecutive piece of veneer in the flinch has been flipped and united with the previous piece
to form a mirror image around the centerline of the dashboard. This is how Jaguar originally did it.
Notice that the walnut burl veneer flows seamlessly into the bevels of the gauge openings as it
originally did. The veneer also flows seamlessly over the edges of the center panel as original.
The book matched burl veneer flows with continuous grain onto the center pullout map drawer.
The map drawer itself constructed of Pin cherry and black walnut with a Baltic birch plywood
bottom and lined with green felt. The map drawer and glove box door pull knobs are made of
solid walnut burl.
The clear gloss finish is UV resistant, hand rubbed and buffed to a high gloss. There are
many reflections in the pictures due to the clear gloss coating. Most of the pictures have
been taken attempting to minimize the reflections so that the grain can be seen. This finish
is like liquid glass and is far more durable than the varnish originally used by Jaguar, which
always cracked.
This black walnut burl veneer has fantastic grain and color. This is some of my best burl
veneer. The color is an elegant dark brown with areas of tight eyes blending into swirling
grain patterns.
