Austin Healey 100 and early 100-6 wood seat bases
These new seat bases are strong and lightweight just like the original Austin Healey
100. This is a pair ( right and left ) of wood seat bases which fit all Austin Healey 100's
and the early Austin Healey 100-6 BN4 (pre C.E. 68959). The set is made just like the
original and has been patterned from original parts. The base is made out of quality
plywood and Ash hardwood components.
Original seat bases were weak at the front overhanging edge of the thin plywood on top.
To solve that problem these reproductions have had this plywood area reinforced with
double thickness. It is now quite strong.
Later BN4 100-6 cars and 3000 cars had stamped metal seat bases. These are the
early wood ones.
